Hailing from Birmingham, Namywa is an international recording artist, powerhouse performer, and fearless songwriter known for her soul-stirring voice and truth-telling lyrics. With a sound rooted in emotional depth and raw honesty, Namywa blends Americana, Soul, and Jazz into a genre-defying expression of resilience, identity, and lived experience. Whether singing solo with her guitar or fronting a full band, her captivating presence and vocal grit echo the legacy of Midlands greats like Joan Armatrading and Laura Mvula.

In 2023, Namywa burst onto the UK Country and Americana scene with headline-making performances at Buckle and Boots Festival and Song Fest (via the UK Americana Association), capturing the attention of audiences and industry alike. Influenced by legends such as Amy Winehouse, Yola, Tina Turner, Samara Joy, and Paloma Faith, Namywa brings both vulnerability and power to her music, with songs that challenge, uplift, and deeply move.

March 2025 marked a major milestone: a standout collaboration with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), where Namywa seamlessly fused classical arrangements with her soulful, gritty vocal style. Her latest single “HOME” explores themes of belonging and identity, while her highly anticipated upcoming release “Watch Me Here. I Go” (May 2025) is an unapologetic anthem of personal and collective empowerment.

A force on stage, Namywa has supported and shared stages with an eclectic mix of icons, including UB40, Beverley Knight, Paloma Faith, Jimmy Cliff, Public Enemy, Gabrielle, and Snarky Puppy. Her performances at Cheltenham Jazz Festival in both 2017 and 2021 have further cemented her reputation as a dynamic and commanding live act.

Behind the scenes, Namywa has worked with an impressive roster of collaborators including Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse), Gil Gang, and Grammy-nominated writers Jamie Hartman, Rachel Walker Mason, and Beth Nelson. In September 2024, she travelled to Texas to write new music with the Buddy Holly Foundation and Under the Apple Tree, an experience that deepened her artistry and expanded her international reach. With plans to return to the U.S. and a new record on the horizon for late 2025, Namywa is entering her most exciting chapter yet.
